Adopt-a-School In July 2006 Vulcan Materials Company's Manteno facility announced their partnership with Manteno Community Unit School District 5 as part of their Adopt-a-School program at the school board meeting.
Manteno Quarry Community Advisory Group In an effort to improve relations with its neighbors and strengthen its commitment to the area, earlier in 2006, Vulcan began the process of forming a community advisory group of area residents to improve communications between its operation (on Rt. 50), neighbors and the community.

Vulcan Materials Company Foundation The Vulcan Materials Company Foundation was established in 1988 to assist in carrying out our mission of being a good corporate citizen in the communities where we have facilities. We support and take an active part in many public and charitable projects.
Our objective is to help build stronger communities by working with schools, supporting environmental education and encouraging employee involvement. Our activities include involvement in adopt-a-school programs, funding scholarships, and establishing and maintaining certified wildlife habitats.
