Summer days are here again and your Manteno Quarry is busy as usual around the community!
Here's the latest: Vulcan Materials Company was recently announced to be the title sponsor of this year's Manteno Oktoberfest! The series of autumn celebrations will take place September 18-21 and include the annual lighted parade, live entertainment and a host of other family-friendly activities. Vulcan proudly supports Transportation for Illinois Coalition (TFIC). This new group is in partnership with the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and the Americans for Transportation Coalition. The group is designed to keep businesses throughout Illinois, informed on key transportation issues facing our state.
New CAG members
4/9/08 - The Manteno Community Advisory Group (CAG) has announced the addition of three new members. Brian Stauffenberg, Ryan Kemp and Dan Usrey recently joined the CAG to improve communications between its operation (on Rt. 50), neighbors and the community. The group is a listening and sharing body to help the company respond to community concerns, to proactively inform the community of operational developments and to help the company improve its supportive role in Manteno's neighborhoods, schools and community organizations. Job Well Done: Manteno Quarry Receives National Honor
4/8/08 - The Interstate Mining Compact Commission (IMCC) recently announced the recipients of its ninth annual minerals education awards to include VMC's Manteno Quarry in Illinois. The IMCC will award the quarry with an honorable mention in the public outreach category for its stellar community efforts over the past year.
